*Riding Ability
In order to fully enjoy the magic of this overnight ride you will need to be either a strong intermediate or an experienced rider with a high level of riding fitness.

Strong intermediate who is currently riding regularly and is comfortable and competent in all three gaits outside of an Arena; able to post or sit to the trot; have an independent seat while cantering (don’t hold onto the saddle).

Advanced a frequent rider who is very fit, comfortable in the saddle for at least 4 hours per day, and has an independent seat and soft hands. Advanced riders are confident on a forward-moving horse at all paces over rough and variable ground on open terrain.

This ride has a number of steep hills and narrow tracks that require a confident rider.

If you used to ride regularly but have not for a few years we strongly recommend building up some saddle hours before the ride. Your bum will thank you later!

ITINERARY

Day 1

Arrive at Stone Hill in the afternoon and settle in at your accommodation for the Weekend. We will gather everyone at the Pool with a welcome Drink and a charcuterie board and get to know everyone in the Group. Finish of the evening with a BBQ and a good night sleep.

Day 2

The morning begins with a continental breakfast in your accommodation. We then pick you up at 8:30am and drive over to meet the Horses. We will match you with your horse for the Weekend. Hands on! You will get to brush and tack up, the best way to get know and bond with your Riding Buddy. After a briefing we will head out for our first long ride over our 1500 Acres Farm. This ride takes you on a journey amongst grand volcanic boulders, pass countless charming streams and infinite green rolling hills. Roughly half way we will stretch our legs and enjoy a tasty packed Lunch. After the ride you can cool down at the Pool, relax in the Spa or go for a stroll. Finish of the evening with a home cooked Meal at the Pool.

Day 3

After breakfast we pick you up at 9:00am and drive over to the Horses. Brush and tack up your Riding Buddy for the next long ride over the stunning Farm next door where some of the Hobbit Movie and The Rings of Power was filmed. On this ride we will also stop for a yummy packed Lunch. After the ride you can relax at the Pool, Spa or go for a stroll. Finish of the evening with a home cooked Meal at the Pool.

Day 4

On your last day we pick you up at 9:00am. Brush and tack up your Horse for a shorter Ride (roughly 2hrs) and enjoy some stunning Views over the Waikato region from another Farm next door. You will find a light Lunch at your Accommodation before heading back home to 'reality'!

Payment / Cancellation Multi Day Riding Holiday

Payment

A reservation requires a deposit of 20% of the total price
The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled by you.
The rest of the payment should be paid latest 30 days before arrival.

Cancellation

More than 30-days prior to departure – Deposit not
refunded. All other payments refunded
Less than 30-days prior to departure – Deposit and
payments not refunded

Why’s this? Because your ride has been carefully curated months in advance, all accommodation, catering and other expenses have been pre organized by us based on the individual needs of yourself or group. Late change fees and expenses are incurred by us and as such no refunds will be permitted after that period.

All Rides go ahead in moderate Wind and light Rain.

No further Costs can be claimed from Stone Hill horse trek due to a cancellation made by us.

Full Refund only if they are cancelled due to very bad weather and rescheduling is not an option for Customers.

STONE HILL horse trek reserve the right to cancel your tour at any stage if you fail to follow all instructions during the tour.
